About me

Based on the edge of the West Pennine Moors in Lancashire, I've been a countryside photographer since childhood. Ever since my dad bought me a secondhand camera and darkroom kit for £35 when I was just 10 year old, I have sought new ways to capture the beauty and realism of the natural world. A world that has always fascinated me.

As a young lad I spent my weekends walking with Fleet, my Collie dog in the Lancashire countryside, laden down with lenses, capturing the light on Kodachrome. I had images published regularly in local and national magazines during my school years, enabling me to fund my passion. Becoming a professional photographer was my sole goal and during the 1980s I established myself as a full time photographer juggling the demands of a career with those of my growing family.

meWhether shooting in the confines of a garden or exploring the wilder world my imagery ranges from the experimental through to classical with 'real' nature being the overriding theme. I enjoy working with many fields, our countryside being central, and produce work for a wide client base covering a diverse range of subjects.

I'm fortunate to work with some of the world's leading publishers and travel extensively throughout the British Isles seeking out my images and fulfilling my clients visual needs. If you'd like to view anything specific please let me know and I'll post a gallery for you or visit with my portfolio.

As well as working on commission, and supplying stock, I'm happy to supply photo and text packages for book, magazine or online use. Additionally I run occasional workshops and sell fine art products, all of which are available from Wildscape.
