biography . . .

Based on the edge of the West Pennine Moors, Jason has been a countryside photographer since childhood. Ever since his father bought him a secondhand camera and darkroom kit for £35 when he was just 10 year old, he has sought new ways to capture the beauty and realism of the natural world. A world that has always fascinated him.

As a young lad he spent his weekends walking with his Collie dog in the Lancashire countryside, laden down with lenses, capturing the light on Kodachrome. He had work published regularly in local and national magazines during his school years, enabling him to fund his passion. Becoming a professional photographer was his sole goal and during the 1980s Jason established himself as a full time photographer juggling the demands of his career with those of his growing family.
